Kevin Wayne Durant (born September 29, 1988 in Washington, D.C.) is an American professional basketball player for the Oklahoma City Thunder of the NBA.

A 6’9″ shooting guard-small forward, Durant was the consensus 2007 National College Player of the Year, in addition to being selected as the 2006-2007 Big 12 Player of the Year, amongst other awards. After his freshman season at the University of Texas, Durant opted to enter the NBA Draft, where he was selected second overall by the Seattle Supersonics. There, he went on to claim the NBA Rookie Of The Year after his debut season.  Durant signed an endorsement contract with Nike in 2007.  And last night he torched The Warriors for 41…but they still lost.

If you’re not familiar with Wale.  Wale Folarin, better known simply as Wale (pronounced wah-lay) (born Olubowale Victor Akintimehin), is a hip hop artist from Washington, D.C.. 

Wale was born on September 21, 1984 to Yoruba Nigerian immigrant parents in Washington, DC.  He grew up on 6000 Peabody Street in Northeast DC and moved to Largo, Maryland as a teenager. He attended seven different high schools in Washington, D.C. and Maryland; finally graduating from Quince Orchard High School in 2001. He played tailback on his high school football team.

He went to Robert Morris College and Virginia State University on football scholarships, and then Bowie State University but dropped out in 2004 to pursue music full-time. Before music became a viable source of income, Wale worked day jobs at Sprint, Up Against The Wall and Downtown Locker Room.
